• How does Skyecandy work?

• Error: "Doh... Skyecandy can not access Skype. Please check you are logged into Skype and your status is not offline" when you check-in to speed date. How do I correct this?

If you get this error, first check if you are logged into Skype and your Skype status is Online. If you are, the Skype icon in your task bar should look like this:



If the Skype icon on your task bar looks like this,



your status is set to Offline. Skyecandy will not be able to access Skype.

To fix this, please change your status in Skype from Offline to Online.

To change your status in Skype 3.x, in the Skype menu go to File Menu -> Change Online Status and select Online.

To change your status in Skype 4.x, in the Skype menu go to Online Status and select Online as shown:



If you have done all these steps and still get an error, contact us using Skyecandy's Contact Us.

• I want to install Skyecandy, but 'Extras' is greyed out in my Skype Tools menu?

This happens if Skype Extras Manager is not installed in your Skype. To fix this, download the latest version of Skype from www.skype.com/download and double click to install this. You will see an Options button in the install screen. Click Options.



On the Options page, select Install (or Update) Skype Extras Manager.



Finish the installation. Extras should be available in your Skype Tools menu after this. Now you can find Skyecandy in the Community section of Skype Extras and click the Green Play button to install Skyecandy.

• Can I use Skyecandy on a Mac?

You can use Skyecandy on Intel-based Macs using Dual Boot, Parallels or any solution that allows you to have Windows on Macs. In time, we will make Skyecandy available natively on Macs.

• I made a mistake with my email address during registration. How do I correct this?

Send us your correct email using Skyecandy's Contact Us. In Comments, please provide details that help us find your account e.g. name, Skype name and Skyecandy nickname. Also mention that you want us to update your email address.

• Error: "With Skyecandy, you registered a Skype name ... but currently you are logged into Skype using ..." when I check-in to speed date. How do I correct this?

You get this error message if you are logged into Skype with a different Skype name to the one you registered with Skyecandy. To fix this, logout of Skype and log back in with the Skype name you gave Skyecandy.

You may also get this error if you have entered your Skype name incorrectly during registration. It is common for users to misspell their Skype name or enter their display name as their Skype name. To fix this, you need to give Skyecandy your correct Skype name.

To find your correct Skype name in Skype, go to Skype menu and click Account.



You will see a window similar to the image above (Skype version 4.1). This window shows your actual Skype name in the places highlighted. Now that you know your correct Skype name, type it into the field shown in the Skyecandy error page and click Update. This will update your Skype name with Skyecandy.

• When is the best time to speed date?

Use Skyecandy's Interactive Map on your member's area at www.skyecandy.com to see Skyecandy's most popular times of use for different countries by rolling over them. Popular times are also conveniently converted to your local time. So if you are in Australia and want to speed date with singles in Spain, use the Interactive Map to find out Spain's most popular speed dating time, your time.

• I just uploaded a new photo. Why isn't this showing?

Skyecandy's staff approve all photos manually. This is to help safeguard a fun and friendly video speed dating service. Read Skyecandy Photo Guidelines.

• I made a mistake with my Skype name during registration. How do I correct this?

Login at www.skyecandy.com and go to All About Me section. Here, select More About Me tab and press the Edit button at the bottom of this tab. You see the Edit More About Me page. Change your Skype name here and click Submit.

• What should I do if a speed date is disconnected?

You can try to re-connect the speed date by pressing the "Reconnect" button in the Skyecandy window as shown.
